Bravio delle Botti

"Bravio delle Botti" is one of the most fascinating and characteristic historical events in Tuscany, held every year on the last Sunday of August in the picturesque town of Montepulciano. This event re-enacts the ancient rivalries between the contrade (quarters) of the medieval town and attracts both locals and tourists eager to enjoy an authentic and engaging experience.

The Bravio competition consists of a race between the eight contrade (quarters) of Montepulciano, who compete by rolling large barrels weighing about 80 kg along a course of about 1,800 metres, winding through the steep streets of the historic centre, until they reach the finish line located in Piazza Grande.

Christmas markets

The Montepulciano Christmas markets are a magical and evocative experience in the heart of Tuscany. Located in the beautiful medieval village, these markets generally take place from late November to early January, transforming the town into an enchanting Christmas village.
